JAMMU, July 5: All J&K Retired Police Personnel (non-gazetted) Forum members held peaceful protest demonstration outside Press Club Jammu in support of their demands.
The speakers expressed that Government Order No. 229-F of 17-10-2014 regarding pay anomalies was not acceptable since the effect was being given prospective, which means that effect is be given from the date of order.
They said with the implementation of the said order injustice has been done with the retired personnel who have been struggling since 1996 when 5th Pay Commission was implemented. They demanded that surviving strugglers ought to be given justice by giving the effect of the said order since 1996.
Other demands pertained to enhancement of Medical Allowance to Rs 1000; Cashless health care policy to retired police personnel, 15% quota for wards of personnel for professional courses and sanction of Rs 50000 in case of death of a retired police personnel; Provision of one rank one pension; and ex-gratia to Mohd Ramzan ASI who had met with an encounter at Pakharpora, Budgam on March 5, 2006.
A Forum body for Kargil district was also framed with Mohd Ali Khan as president, Mohd Hanif as vice president, Mohd Sultan as general secretary, Abdul Hussainas cashier and Namgial Dorjey as organizer.
