JAMMU, July 7: The Kashmiri Pandit youth who had appeared in interviews for various posts under PM’s special job package for migrants in 2014 today held a protest demonstration demanding immediate release of the selection list.
The protestors shouting slogans in support of their demands expressed concern over delaying tactics adopted by the Government in releasing the list despite a lapse of two years.
A spokesman of these protesting youth said that they are in great desperation as the Government was adopting delaying tactics in implementing the package announced by then Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh way back in 2008.
He said the migrants had pinned high hopes in present PM Narendra Modi and they were expecting that the package will be implemented soon after he took over the reigns of the Government at Delhi but over two years have passed since then, no headway was made in this regard.
He said the displaced youth aspiring for State Government jobs are in a great desperation as some of them had left their private jobs outside the State waiting for the outcome of their interviews conducted two years back. The State Government’s delaying tactics in implementing the package indicates that it was not interested in providing the jobs to Pandit youth in Valley and their return to Kashmir. The youth warned to take some extreme step in case the package was not implemented in letter and spirit as the Government’s rigidity proves that the announcement of special job package for displaced youth was totally an eye wash.
