Dagger Gunners celebrate Eid with orphans, special children

BARAMULLA, July 7: Eid the festival of Peace and Love has a special relevance in Kashmir . Recognising the true essence of the same, all Units of Dagger Artillery Brigade celebrated Eid at orphanages in their AOR making an endeavour to bring a smile on the face of the needy children.
Come Eid and the Commanding Officers of Artillery units moved with their core teams to the Yateemkhanas, Home for poor children and the Special orphanages where these deprived children are located . Surprised at the sudden entry of the men in combats, the joy of these children knew no bounds when they found that the soldiers had come for them to make their day special.
The children homes at Uri, Bimiyar, Pattan and Khanpura & Fatehgarh were visited by the gunners   alongwith  sweets , saved rations and clothes for these children and the staff at orphanages. Valuable time spent by the soldiers with these children was the most precious time the children at these orphanages relished as of now . The Commanding Officers made it a point to speak and motivate these children to have a dream and pursue it further.
As the news of soldiers visiting the Yateemkhanas was spread, the local people turned out in large numbers to compliment the troops on this noble gesture . The village authorities insisted the soldiers to share a cup of tea with them before leaving .
Each soldier  walked out of these orphanages  well gratified as they left behind a smiling face, an expecting eye and a contented heart.
