Traffic Police launches one-time token system for Amarnath yatris

JAMMU, July 8: Traffic Police, Rural Jammu, has introduced one time token system for all yatri/tourists vehicles entering Jammu from Lakhanpur, the gateway of Jammu and Kashmir for the convenience of Amarnath Ji and Mata Vaishno Devi ji pilgrims.
SP Traffic Rural, Jammu, Dushyant Sharma said the yatri/tourist vehicles were being given sticker at Lakhanpur after checking of all documents so that they were not subjected to fresh checking on account of documents enroute.
“The purpose of pasting of this one time document checking stickers is that the pilgrim vehicles can move within the State without unwanted stoppage and wastage of time,” Sharma said, adding the vehicles found with incomplete documents at Lakhanpur were challaned on spot and pasted with one time documents checking so that they didn’t face any problem further.
He added that two more Traffic Control Rooms have been set up at Dayala Chak in Kathua and Mansar Morh in Samba by them for assistance/guidance of Shri Amarnath ji pilgrims. All these Control Rooms are working under the supervision of DySP Traffic Samba-Kathua, whose mobile number 9797570927 has been flashed on the screen.
He said a grievance/complaint cell has also been constituted for the pilgrims, which was being personally monitored by SP Traffic and DySP Traffic Rural. The yatris facing any problem can call on toll free phone number 9622882222 and Control Room numbers (0191) 2459048 and 2462299.
