UDHAMPUR July 8: A teenaged girl committed suicide by immolating herself at her house in Dogra Kud, here today.
The deceased was identified as Seema Devi (18), daughter of Romesh Kumar Sharma of village Dogra Kud. She allegedly poured kerosene oil on her body and set herself on fire. Before the family members could reach to rescue her, she had sustained critical burn injuries. She was rushed to Sub District hospital Chenani where doctors referred her to District Hospital Udhampur. Despite hectic efforts by the doctors, she succumbed to her injuries.
Cause behind the extreme step could not be ascertained while Police has registered a case in this regard for further investigation.
