JAMMU: The mobile internet service has been suspended in this winter capital of the State, in view of tense situation in Kashmir Valley after the death of Hizb-ul-Mujaheedin militant Burhan Wani in a fierce gun battle in Anantnag district, here.
”The mobile internet service has been temporarily snapped in Jammu district, in view of tension in Kashmir Valley as preventive measure,” Dr Pawan Kotwal, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Province here told mediapersons.
Dr Kotwal said to prevent any kind of rumours on social media, the service has been suspended. ”We will review the situation late tonight and take decision whether it has to be restored or the suspension will continue,” he added. However, broad band service remains unaffected. Kashmir Valley is on boil after the death of Hizb terrorist Burhan Wani last night in an encounter in Kookernag district of Anantnag. (AGENCIES)
