Police nab narco smuggler with ganja

JAMMU, July 12: Gangyal police nabbed a narcotic smuggler under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ and recovered four kilograms Ganja from his possession.
As per police sources, based on tip-off, a team from Gangyal police station laid a naka at Kunjwani Chowk and asked a pedestrian to stop for checking, as he was moving under suspicious circumstances.
On seeing police cops, the pedestrian tried to ran away, but the cops chased and nabbed him.
During checking, police recovered 4 kilograms Ganja from a bag being carried by the pedestrian and arrested him on the spot.
The accused has been identified as Mohammad Sakhi, son of Choudhary Munshi, a resident of District Rajouri, presently residing in Digiana Camp area.
A case under FIR Number 71/16 under Section 8/20 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against the narcotic smuggler at Gangyal police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Gangyal Inspector Aejaz Ahmed Wani made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Sachin Gupta and SP South Shaazad Salaria.
