JAMMU, Sept 23: Rich tributes were paid to Maharaja Hari Singh on his 117th birth anniversary.
The management and staff of Maharaja Hari Singh Social and Education Foundation, Rajput Charitable Trust and people from all walks of life paid rich tributes to Maharaja Hari Singh on his 117th birth anniversary.
Speaking on the occasion, Ajat Shatru Singh, Trustee/ Chairman, Maharaja Hari Singh Social and Education Foundation and Member Legislative Council, highlighted the social reforms, achievements and other good deeds done by Maharaja Hari Singh.
SS Sodhi, Director, Delhi Public School, S Sonar, Principal, CL Malhotra, Administrator and RC Gupta, AO, also highlighted the achievements of Maharaja Hari Singh.
On the occasion, blankets were distributed among the needy people.
Similar functions to pay tributes to Maharaja Hari Singh were also held at Delhi, Mumbai, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh vis-à-vis UK, USA and Nepal.
117th Birth Anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh was celebrated by MHS DAV Public School, RS Pura.
A hawan was performed during celebration of the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh, in which Principal TN Kumar, staff and students participated.
National Panthers Party (NPP) today held a meeting at VP House, New Delhi to celebrate 117th birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh.
The meeting was addressed by several notables including Rajiv Khosla, BS Sajjan, Ramesh Khajuria, Santosh Kumar, Rohit Pandery and Prof Bhim Singh, Chairman, NPP.
Prof Bhim Singh said that “Maharaja Hari Singh was a revolution into himself and he showed the roads of democracy to the entire country”.
NPP in its resolution demanded that the regional history should be made a compulsory subject in the schools and universities.
NPP also celebrated birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh at its headquarters at Jammu and Srinagar. The speakers highlighted the contribution made by Maharaja Hari Singh in the field of education, law and human rights.
The students wing of NPP, under the leadership of Thakur Virender Singh, provincial president, also celebrated birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh at Jammu University, with great pomp and show.
National Secular Forum (NSF), Jammu University unit organized a function to pay rich tributes to late Maharaja Hari Singh on his 117th birth anniversary at Varsity campus. Dr Vikas Sharma, State president, NSF presided over the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Vikas Sharma, threw light on the life of Maharaja Hari Singh, adding, that Maharaja worked for the upliftment of the people.

On the occasion, poets and writers recited poems in honour of Maharaja Hari Singh, followed by speeches on the life of Maharaja.
Narayan Singh, president, Shri Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha, highlighted the achievements during tenure of Maharaja Hari Singh and stressed to follow the foot steps of Maharaja.
Shri Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha, Samba, celebrated birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh at Hari Singh Chowk, Samba. Major (Retd) Dalip Singh, who was the chief guest on the occasion, along with Captain (Retd), Inder Singh Sambyal, president of the district Rajput Sabha, Samba, threw light on the life of Maharaja Hari Singh.
National Panthers Party, Udhampur celebrated Maharaja Hari Singh’s 117th birth anniversary. Rich tributes were paid to maharaja on the occasion by party workers from different parts of District.
While speaking, Balwant Singh Mankotia, MLA said that Hari Singh was not only Maharaja but also a great social reformer. He said that J&K become part of India only because of Maharaja Hari Singh.
NITL School celebrated 117th birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh. Floral tributes were paid to Maharaja Hari Singh by Principal, Ajay gupta, staff and students.
