Slathia tours border areas, reviews developmental works

SAMBA, Sept 23:  The Minister for Industries, Surjit Singh Slathia today conducted extensive tour of border villages of Samba district and inaugurated newly constructed facilities, besides reviewing pace of progress on various under execution works.
Mr. Slathia also addressed a series of meetings during the day long tour and listened to the problems of the people.
Accompanied by a team of officers of developmental departments, the Minister inaugurated newly constructed lanes and drains in village Jakh, besides premises of local Dev Sathan upgraded with the fixation of floor tiles.  The works have been completed at a cost of Rs. 5 lakh.
The Minister also attended the annual male  of Saini Bridhari at Jakh and assured the Bridhari that the demands raised by its members would be conceded  in a phased manner.
The Minister also visited village Dabuj Kaka and listened to the public demands related to upgradation of roads, link roads  and improvement of civic amenities and creation of other facilities.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister directed the concerned authorities to take up early blacktopping of road from Dabuj Bridge to Dhati Temple and Dabuj Bridge to Rara. He directed them to complete the same before 31 October 2012.
Responding to the demands of the people of Dabuj Kaka, the Minister asked the locals to provide required land for the construction of community hall and school building the funds for which would be provided by the Government.
The Minister also inaugurated community paths at Dabuj Kaka   constructed under   MGNREGA at a cost of Rs. 13.78 lakh.
The Minister also inaugurated newly constructed link road from Chak Babral to Chak Pars completed at a cost of Rs. 10 lakh.
He also announced two transformers for the area to mitigate the   problems related to low voltage. He appealed the people to use power judiciously.
He assured the people that the construction of community hall at Chak Babral, border areas of  Vijaypur constituency would be started soon.
DDC Samba Mubarak Singh and other senior officers of concerned department also accompanied the Minister.
Earlier, addressing public meetings at various places, the Minister said that the Government was committed to equal   balanced development of all the regions of the State. He said that the hallmark of the present dispensation was development and peace. He said that a massive wave of development has been launched across the State and the results will be visible to the people very soon.
