Youth sustain burn injuries, 2 cars damaged in fire

JAMMU, Sept 23: A youth sustained burn injuries, while, two cars were damaged as a LPG cylinder caught fire at Sanjay Nagar.
Police spokesman said that, a LPG cylinder caught fire in Sanjay Nagar, in which a minor youth received burn injuries and two cars were gutted.
He said that the incident took place in the shop cum garage at the house of one Mohinder Singh, resident of Sanjay Nagar.
“The cylinder was kept in the garage connected to the kitchen, and due to short circuit, the cylinder caught fire, causing damage to two cars parked in and outside the garage”, spokesman said.
As the spoke emitted out of the garage, a local youth opened the shutter of the garage, during which he received minor burn injuries, and was taken to nearby medical store, where after first aid, the youth was discharged.
“Two petrol variant cars including Maruti van bearing registration number JKO2AR 1755 and Wagon R JKO2AJ 8759, were damaged in the fire”, he added.
The exact loss could not be ascertained, while, during preliminary investigation, the loss is between Rs 4 and Rs 5 lakh, spokesman added.
A case has been registered and investigation started to ascertain the exact reason behind the incident.
