MENDHAR, July 16: The people today held protest demonstration against the ERA and R&B authorities for not completing 22 km road from Sakhi Maidan to Kalai in last over 13 years.
The villagers from Nakkar and adjoining areas assembled on the road and held protest against the R&B authorities. They alleged that earlier this road was under ERA. As its performance remained very poor even after five years, later the road project was landed over to R&B about 7 years back. But till today only 7 kms of road has been completed. This 7 kms road which was black topped hardly last year, has been broken and large potholes have been appeared on road surface. They also demanded inquiry into the matter.
The public held protest for about two hours and later with the intervention of SDPO, Mendhar Shahid Nahim they lifted dharna and allowed movement of traffic on the road.
