JAMMU, July 16: Young Lawyers Association (YLA), Jammu has strongly urged the State Government to immediately resume the Amarnath Yatra and provide adequate security and facilities to yatris.
While addressing a meeting of the association held here today, the association president, Daljeet Singh Manhas, said that yatris are being attacked and vehicles are being damaged in Kashmir by some miscreants while the facilities to the yatris are not up to mark.
He asserted that belt forces should be given full powers to protect themselves as well as yatris, as their (belt forces) life is under severe risk in the light of lobbing of grenades and petrol bombs.
The association appealed the State Government to immediately restore internet facilities in Jammu region as it has nothing to do with the anti-national agitation going-on in Srinagar.
The association members also appealed not to use the word J&K, while talking about disturbance in Kashmir, as situation is disturbed only in Kashmir whereas in Jammu and Ladakh situation is absolutely normal.
The meeting among others was attended by vice president of the association, Pardeep Majotra besides, Ajay Bakshi, Harsh Sharma, Arjun Manhas, Sachin Razdan and other Bar members.
