JAMMU, July 17: The composite culture and inclusiveness is intrinsic and built-in features of Jammu and Kashmir’s ethos. There is a need for integrating the State’s rich diversity and heritage treasure into it’s tourism industry,” former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla said here, after attending impressive Kalash Yatra taken out before establishing temple of Sant Kabir at village Bhour Chatha area on Sunday.
Kalash Yatra started from Bhour Kullian and passed through Bhour, Chatha Mill, Govind Pura, Peer Baba, Shomali Mohalla, Raipur Satwari and Old Satwari.
Prominent persons who participated in Kalash Yatra were Sarpanch OP Bhagat, Sarpanch Amrit Bali, Lamberdar Pawan Bhagat, Committee Pardhan Tarsem Lal, Kartar Chand, Ram Lal, Bishan Dass, Bal Krishan, Panch Ajay Kumar, Panch Usha Bhagat beside others.
Earlier, in the morning large number of enthusiastic men, women and children participated in the Shoba Yatra of Sadguru Kabir Ji and paid rich tributes to the Great Spiritual Sant to seek his blessings.
Bhalla while interacting with devotees highlighted the contribution of Sant Kabir in eradication of social evils from the society and said that his greatest contribution was towards establishment of a harmonious society based on social and economic justice. It was Sant Kabir who envisioned a society where every individual and community would be treated as equal, he added.
Speaking on the worst over law and order situation in Valley, Bhalla said that instead of dealing Kashmir with people who matter, the powers that be in Delhi deal only through the intelligence agencies, which is a major flaw. As a result, whether it is the MHA, PMO or the BJP, they remain disconnected with the ground realities of the Valley.
The claim of the administration of facilitating Amarnath pilgrimage stands exposed as pilgrims remained stranded on the highway for two days. “Not even once had the Amarnath Yatra been stopped during the height of militancy in the past. How can neutralising a local militant lead to widespread commotion in the Valley which affects the Yatra?” asked Bhalla.
Bhalla demanded that Govt must take cue from its mismanagement so far in handling Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra and make sure that Yatra is not halted unnecessarily by taking concrete and requisite measures on ground and not with words only to allow pilgrims to have smooth and incident free Yatra.
