JAMMU, July 17: Minority Cell of the Pradesh Congress today discussed the present political situation in the State and appealed to the people from all the communities to maintain peace and communal harmony in the State.
A meeting of Minority Cell of JKPCC was held here today at PCC Headquarters here in which present political scenario of the State was discussed. A fervent appeal was made to the people to maintain traditional brotherhood at all costs.
Dy Chairman, Legislative Council and chairman of Minority Cell of JKPCC, Jahangir Mir presided over the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Mir said that State is passing through a very critical juncture. Due to deteriorating law and order situation, people of all walks of life have been affected. The whole attention of the Govt is towards controlling law and order situation and all other activities in the field of development are adversely affected. The general public is fed up from price rise of essential commodities, shortage of ration, drinking water, power supply, dilapidated conditions of roads, bridges, non-availability of medical facilities in far flung and rural areas and there are numerous day today problems of people which required to be addressed.
Stressing the need of establishing peace in the State, Mr Mir appealed to the people to maintain communal harmony and traditional brotherhood at all costs. He also made a fervent appeal to the people of Kashmir valley not to disrupt Shri Amarnath Yatra and ensure that it will go in a peaceful manner.
Gurdarshan Singh while speaking said that the people of minority community in J&K are facing lot of problems and they are not getting their due share in Govt departments and other spheres of life. He stressed the need of strengthening Minority Cell of PCC.
Prominent among those who attended the meeting included Gajan Singh, Dalbir Singh, Mian Nazir Ahmed, Bikramjeet Singh, Hardeep Singh, Mohinder Singh, Taranpreet Singh, Gubaksh Singh, Praveen Singh, Davinder Singh, Bimaljeet Singh, Nassir Masih, Ch Mohd Tariq and others.
