People urged to maintain peace, communal harmony

JAMMU, July 18: S Narinder Singh, former Director Information and presently advisor Civil Defense and Akhil Bharat Rachnatmak Samaj Jammu, urged the people of the State to maintain peace, communal harmony and brotherhood, in view of the prevailing unrest in Kashmir valley.
In a statement, he said whatever the cause of the turmoil may be, the need of the hour is to maintain the age old tradition of secularism and mutual understanding. The peace is the basic requirement for prosperity and development of the State, he said. He urged the people to be cautious against the anti-national and disruptive forces which are bent upon to disturb peace and tranquility of the people of the State.
However, he appealed to the people to work against such elements and foil their nefarious designs of weakening the country. He further said that media has to play a very important role in restoring the peace.
