SRINAGAR, July 19: Jag-mohan Singh Raina, President All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC), called on Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here today.
Mr. Raina appealed for Raj Bhavan’s urgent intervention to diffuse the prevailing tense situation in the Valley and urged the Governor to ensure the deployment of Magistrates and other senior officers on the ground to over-view law and order and also timely resolve the varied problems faced by the people, particularly ensuring the availability of essential commodities at the correct prices.
Assuring attention to the issues raised, the Governor urged Raina to continue playing a positive role for the resolution of all the problems facing the people at large.
Khawaja Farooq Renzushah, Chairman Kashmir Society also called on Governor.
Putting forth various suggestions for restoration of peace and normalcy in Kashmir, Khwaja Renzushah appealed to the Governor to intervene and initiate a reconciliation process by involving all segments of the population who play key roles in Kashmir. He also urged launching of an effective campaign to fill gap between the political dispensation and the people at large.
The Governor appreciated the suggestions made by Khawaja Renzushah and urged him to mobilize the members of his organization, the “Kashmir Society” to set up Peace Brigades to work among the people for bringing harmony among all sections of society.
