JAMMU, July 20: Jaikrishan Wali’s maiden poetry Jeewan Saar hits stands today. The book comprising of bhajans and Kashmiri folk songs is the first ever attempt of the poet.
The book was released at a simple but impressive function organized at Geeta Satsang Ashram Muthi by Swami Kumar Ji, Prof A N Sadhu a renowned scholar, B L Bhat Katal, former Director Horticulture, Ramesh Hangloo president Pir Panchal and Director Sharda Radio, Shiban Khybri and A K Jyotshi in presence of a large number of devotees of Swami Ji.
Though Wali has written hundreds of poems and Ghazals since his student age which were published in various magazines and periodicals from time to time but he could not compile his writings due to mass exodus as entire written material was left by the poet in Valley.
But it was after the persuasion of Swami Kumar Ji that the poet compiled his new poems into the book form. The foreword of the book was written by Moti Lal Raina who also read the welcome address during the function and termed the book as a master piece. He said Wali’s bhajans touch the soul while his folk songs are full of humor and a reflection of evils prevailing in the present society which have become the cause of worry for a common man.
Swami Kumar Ji in his address highly acclaimed the poetry of Wali saying, while going through his bhajans one come across that he is a great devotee and while reading his folk songs one comes to know that he is a great humorist.
Wali who has dedicated his book to his mother Meenawati said she has been a great inspiration for him since his childhood.
The book has been printed at MK Enterprises J K Colony Paloura and the poet has donated it to Swami Kumar Ji Geeta Satsang Ashram for distribution among devotees.
