RKS approves hike in pay of sweepers

DODA, July 22: The Rogi Kalyan Samiti  (RKS) met here today and approved the hike in the pay of sweepers and proposals for upgrading various facilities at District Hospital Doda.
The meeting chaired by MLA Doda Shakti Parihar  was attended by Chief Medical Officer Doda, senior doctors, along with district officers and members the Samiti.
The Chairman announced a pay hike from Rs 700 to Rs 2000 and Rs 1500 to Rs 2500 for different categories of sweepers.
He directed to Executive Officer Municipality Committee to install high mast lights in the District Hospital premises. He instructed the concerned to improve the functioning of Rogi Kalyan Samiti by coordinating with other departments to meet the requirements of hospital and also make the best efforts in serving needy people. He also assured the members that all the genuine demands raised in the meeting including renovations of different sections would be taken up in a phased manner.
Earlier, during the deliberations members expressed concern over shortage of medicines, X-ray films and lab regents in the hospital.
They also demanded for a dedicated blood bank and lab, installation of air conditioners, water purifier in important sections of IPD and OPD. The demand for having a separate diagnostic block, minor repair and renovation of different sections, procurement of electric, hardware and sanitation items were also raised.
While expressing his concern over the poor referral transport, the MLA directed the concerned to look into the matter keenly to avoid inconvenience to the patients in case of emergency.
