Srinagar, July 23: Fire raged in the dense woods of Shankaracharya hills in Srinagar today leaving several trees gutted.
Reports said that the fire, the cause of which is being ascertained, engulfed several trees and bushes. As soon as the Wild Life officials were informed, they sent a firefighting team to douse the flames.
The firefighters managed to douse the fire till this evening but smoke was continuously billowing out from the woods. There was no loss of life in the blaze.
