Vice Chancellor Prof MPS Ishar inaugurating department website of DCS&IT Jammu University on Monday.

JAMMU, Sept 24: Department of Computer Science and IT (DCS&IT), University of Jammu organized Induction Programme for the fresh batch of MCA students.
On the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof MPS Ishar was the chief guest, while, Prof Devanand, Dean Faculty of the Mathematical Sciences and Prof Naresh Padha, Registrar, University of Jammu, were the guests of honour.
Prof MPS Ishar inaugurated the department website www.dcsju.in and also appreciated the achievements of the students in various national, inter-university and regional level events. He extended his full support to department for various initiatives taken by the department regarding the structure of M Tech programme in Computer Science and VLSI and embedded system, which are likely to be commenced from next academic session.
Prof Ishar further enlightened the students that since they have entered the professional stream they must work hard and make optimum use of resources available in the department.
Prof Vibhakar Mansotra, Head, DCS and IT, apprised the gathering about the overall achievements of the department.
Prof Devanand in his address stressed upon the students to work hard and grab the best possible opportunities in the stream of Computer Science and Information Technology.
Prof Naresh Padha, Registrar, University of Jammu, applauded the role of the department as a consultant, service provider for all computer and IT related activities in the entire university.
Earlier, Dr Pawanesh Abrol, Associate Prof in the department, presented the welcome address, while, vote of thanks was presented by Dr Vinod Sharma.
Among others present were Prof Neelam Saraf, Dean Academic Affairs, Prof NK Tripathi, Dean Student Welfare, Prof VD Singh, Director Ramnagar campus, Jai Kumar Sharma OSD to VC, Dr Lalit Sen Sharma, Associate Prof, faculty members of the department, officials of the University, technical and non-technical staff, research scholars and students.
