Jora reviews functioning of Bhaderwah, Rajouri Development Authorities

SRINAGAR, Sept 24: Minister for Tourism and Culture Nawang Rigzin Jora today reviewed the functioning of Baderwah Development Authority (BDA) and Rajouri Development Authority (RDA) in a high level meeting of officers here today.
The meeting was informed that Rs 200 lakh including Rs 50 lakh as additionality  have been released under State Plan for the year 2011-12 for creation of tourism infrastructure for day camping, eco tourism, pilgrimage tourism at Park Gatha,  Khanitop, Seoj, Padhri and at Pilgrim destination at Bhaderwah which stands utilized and the corresponding works completed.
It was given out in the meeting that the plan ceiling for the year 2012-13 have been fixed at Rs 150 lakh for which action plan has been submitted and the works are under execution for which Rs 37.50 lakh have been released.
It was informed in the meeting that under revenue component an amount of Rs. 81 lakh was released and spent on office establishment during 2011-12 and accordingly for the current year, the revised annual budget to the tune of Rs 128.58 lakh has been submitted.
The meeting was also told that the project proposal for “Bhaderwah-Thathri-Bhallessa-Circuit Development” to the tune of Rs 836 lakh has been submitted for sanction.
The meeting was informed that till ending August 2012 record number of tourists which is around 35,000 including 150 foreign nationals visited various places of Bhaderwah. The data regarding tourist arrivals is being generated and all the hotel and guest house owners have been asked to generate the data and flash the same to BDA office for further action. The trend shows the considerable increase in the tourist arrivals over yester years, the meeting was informed.
While reviewing the physical and financial achievements of the Rajouri Development Authority (RDA), the meeting was informed that the authority has taken up various developmental works in hand worth Rs 952 lakh out of which Rs 150 lakh have been incurred. The works taken up during year 2011-12 include development of Gura Top, Nanga Thup, construction of cafeteria at Budhal Gali, Rock Garden at  Ujhan, view point of Didasan Bala, way site amenity at Sunderbani, Base camp complex at Darhal, Fencing and other allied works at TRC Sharda Sahrif and renovation of already created assests.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Legislators Mohammad Sharif Niaz, Rashpal Singh, Shabir Ahamd Khan, Raday Sham Sharma, Zulifikar Ali,  Commissioner Secretary Tourism Atul Duloo, Chief Executive Officer, BDA Kalyan Singh, Chief Executive Officer, RDA S.S. Jamwal, Deputy Commissioner Doda, Farooq Ahmed Khan, Chief Town Planner Ifitkhar Ansari.
