PMSSS Counseling: 420 seats allotted during first 2 days

SRINAGAR, July 27: Under the Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS), 420 students from J&K have been allotted different colleges outside the State during the first two days of counseling which began on 26 July 2016.
The counseling under PMSSS is being simultaneously conducted at Amar Singh College Srinagar and Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu and it will continue till 3 August 2016.
According to Director Colleges, 6027 students from J&K have registered under PMSSS for admission to various colleges outside the State for the current academic session. He said 254 students appeared for counseling on the first day on Tuesday and the number of seats allotted to the students in various colleges outside the State on that day was 201.
Similarly, 468 students appeared for counseling today at both the centres and 219 students have been allotted different colleges outside the State.
He said the students who appeared for counseling during the first two days have made it to some of the reputed colleges in the country including Delhi College of Engineering, Chandigarh College of Engineering and Technology, St Stephens College, Delhi, University Institute of Engineering and Technology, Rothak, Lady Shri Ram College for Women, New Delhi, Birla Institute of Technology, Jharkhand, Rajiv Gandhi Government Engineering  College, Himachal Pradesh (HP), Netaji Subash Institute of Technology, Delhi and DAV College, Haryana.
