Gagan takes stock of situation created due to rains, water logging

JAMMU, July 27: To take the stock of the situation after the rains created havoc in R S Pura area, Dr Gagan Bhagat MLA RS Pura Assembly Segment today visited the water logged areas of his constituency to take stock of the situation.
During his day long tour to the waterlogged areas in the municipal wards as well as border villages, he interacted with the locals and assured them of all possible help. Later on along with all the sub-district officials, Dr Gagan held a meeting to assess the gravity of the situation so that relief and rehabilitation measures should be started at the earliest for the affected families.
The Legislator visited worst-hit Nari Niketan and Bal Ashram and interacted with inmates. He gave a patient hearing to the grievances of the inmates and the local residents of waterlogged and choked areas and issued on the spot directions to the S.D.M, Tehsildar and the administration. He also directed them to provide pre-fabricated structures to the people who were living in Kuccha houses, as due to the rains, those houses got completely damaged.
He also asked the administration to ensure disbursement of relief cheques within shortest possible time. At Ward No.12, Shiv Nagar, Dr.Gagan Bhagat himself inspected the ongoing relief and dewatering works , he met with the local inhabitants and also visited the houses of the affected families there. Chief Engineer Irrigation and Flood Control also apprised the Legislator about the status of ongoing relief works.
