Jora inaugurates 2-day Kargil Tourism Fair

KARGIL, Sept 24: Minister for Tourism and Culture, Nawang Rigzin Jora inaugurated two-day Kargil Tourism Fair at Khari Sultanchu Sports Stadium here today.
Minister for CA&PD, Qamar Ali Akhoon, Chairman and Chief Executive Coucilor, Kargil,  Kachoo Ahmed Ali Khan, Executive Councilor, MP, Ladakh,  Ghulam Hassan Khan, MLC, Kargil, Syed Ahmed Rizvi, District Officers and artists of various areas of Kargil were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion,  Jora said that such fairs would go a long way in development of tourism sector at national and international level. He said Rs. 36 crore are being spent to strengthen tourism infrastructure in district Kargil. He asked the officers to give wide publicity of tourism fair being held next year in Kargil so that the tourists around globe would get advance information and would participate in large number.
The Minister also directed for making a film on the tourist spots of Kargil.
Minister for CA&PD,  Qamar Ali Akhoon and CEC,  Kachoo Ahmed Ali Khan also addressed the function.
Earlier, Ministers inaugurated Tourist Facilitation Centre, constructed at a cost of Rs. 5.81 crore. They also inaugurated Ceremonial Tower in Trespon village constructed at a cost of Rs. 85 lakh.
