Army organizes tour for elderly women of Nubra

UDHAMPUR. July 31: A National Integration Tour, comprising of fifteen elder women of Nubra valley to Chandigarh, Dharamshala, Rivalsar and back, was flagged-off today by Commander Siachen Brigade from village Sasoma.
The tour is unique for the elderly women of Nubra valley, who are being taken for the tour outside Leh.
The 10- day elderly women tour will visit some well known places like Rose Garden and Sukhna Lake at Chandigarh, Macleodganj, Dalai Lama Monastery and Chamunda Devi temple at Dharamshala to name a few. This NIT is a great opportunity for these selected 15 elderly women to expose them to country’s vast natural and cultural heritage and enhance their outlook about the same.
During the flagging off ceremony, Commander interacted with the tour participants and their family members who were very excited and thrilled to be part of the tour.
