JAMMU, July 31: Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Jammu East Rajesh Gupta accompanied by Ashok Khajuria, senior BJP leader and MLC inaugurated the construction work of a hostel at Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha, Parade. An amount of Rs 10 lakh has been provided for the construction of the hostel by the MLA out of his Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
On the occasion, Gopal Sharma, President, Dogra Brahman Sabha, Chenani Basant Ghar, District Udhampur, Purnima Sharma, State President, BJP Women Wing, Des Raj Raina from Billawar, Ankur Sharma, Rajesh Thapa, Prem Sargotra, Ronik Sharma, besides many others were present on the occasion.
While speaking, President of the Sabha Ved Parkash Sharma said that the hostel would provide cheap and best accommodation to the needy persons including students.
MLC Ashok Khajuria while speaking on the occasion said that Brahman Sabha has played a key role in the social and cultural emancipation of Jammu. He said that Sabha has given many luminaries who have upheld the pride of Jammu at all times. He further said that Jammu has always been a crucible where many communities and cultures co-existed and flourished peacefully.
Rajesh Gupta said that Jammu will always play its leadership role in carrying forward the message of peace, brotherhood and communal harmony. Gupta said that India is destined for its role as a Vishwa Guru and the time is not far when our country would be at the pinnacle in the community of nations. We have to face all challenges with courage and fortitude, he asserted.
The officials of JMC who accompanied the MLA included Joginder Bhagat, Varinder Pathania, Israr Ahmad and Satyam.
