JAMMU : All arrangements are in place for Buddha Amarnath pilgrimage which will commence this week from here.
”All arrangements are finalised and the first batch will leave from Bhagwati Nagar based Yatri Niwas in a couple of days,” Sushma Chauhan, Director Tourism Jammu here said.
Ms Chauhan said the arrangements are almost finalised and pilgrims are all set to perform the pilgrimage.”We have also made arrangements for the pilgrims to visit the tourist spots with an aim to boost tourism through Buddha Amarnath Yatra.”
Buddha Amarnath-dedicated to Hindu deity Shiva- is one of the oldest shrines of Jammu region. It is located in the village of Rajpura in tehsil Mandi of Poonch district.
The river Pulsata flowing by the temple, is considered to be sacred where pilgrims take a dip before entering the temple.
A mythological legend is associated with the river and it has been named after Rishi Pulsata, grandfather of Ravana. (AGENCIES)
