Sir,
CAPD department is one of the most important departments so far as the procurement and distribution of essential commodities is concerned. As the very name denotes its working should be satisfactory and people friendly.
It is really encouraging to know that since Zulfikar Ali took over the reins of the department. He has taken so many good steps to improve the working of the department. The stock of food grains such as rice etc happens to be now of standard quality as compared to previous times. Still much more is needed to be done. Sufficient stock both for BPL, APL,Govt employees and migrants should be made available with ration dealers. It has often been seen that the ration depots do not get the required supply of the items with the result that the people have to go empty handed. The ration of one month is provided in another month and sometimes even after month together, with the result, people feel dissatisfied with the working of the department. When the department is already in the know of stock of items in a ration depot the same should be made available to the other depots and a time frame should be fixed for the delivery of the items to all the categories of the consumers.
Moreover, the digital weighing machines should be arranged at ration depots so that the people get full weight of the items. The ration dealers of the ration depots should have a strict and immediate watch and vigil by the officers in the absence of which there working may not be friendly to the people. The ration dealers also get embarrassed so many times because of non availability of stock and the people give vent to their wrath for no fault of theirs. Besides, the supply of essential commodities should be of a good standard both in quality and quantity so that the people get full advantage from the department for which it is meant.
Yours etc….
