DC reviews functioning of Revenue Deptt

JAMMU, Aug 1 : Deputy Commissioner Simrandeep Singh today reviewed the functioning of Revenue Department here.
The meeting discussed in detail various services provided by the department as well as others issues pertaining to its functioning.
The DC stressed upon timely submission of concise monthly statements/progress reports like collection of levy & revenue fee, attestation of mutations, removal of encroachment on State/ Kahcharai land, disposal of court cases etc by Tehsildars.
Regarding land requirement for expansion of the Jammu airport, the DC directed concerned Tehsildar to identify 1000 Kanal land for relocation of Animal Husbandry Department Beli Charana.
Stressing the need on keeping close check on encroachments in the city, the DC asked the department to strengthen anti encroachment mechanism and coordinate with JDA and other agencies to retrieve encroached State land. He also asked the department to set targets for timely eviction of encroachment on common land.
Highlighting the need for decongestion of roads, the DC directed SDM Jammu North and South to identify State/ Nazool land in different parts of the city for creating parking areas.
The issue for identification of land for construction of 100 MW Solar Power project, land for providing plots to border firing affected families, land for establishment of J&K State Board of School Education Branch offices at Akhnoor, Khour & R.S. Pura, and demarcation and handing over of land to Indian Institute of Integrative Medicines also came up for discussion. The DC directed the revenue officials to take necessary action to remove bottlenecks for acquisition of land for these projects.
The meeting also reviewed the status of demarcation of JDA land in the district.
SDMs and Tehsildars were asked to expedite procedure for various land acquisition requests made by multiple agencies and take required action.
Referring to the complaint forwarded from CM grievance cell regarding construction of structures near Sidhra Tawi Bridge adjacent to Golf course, the DC asked the concerned Tehsildar to submit a detailed report in this regard.
The DC issued strict directions to Tehsildars to regularly update Jamabandies as they are prerequisite for the digitization process. He also directed the field functionaries to reconstruct the Mussavis on the basis of field book if required.
The DC while discussing various administrative concerns asked the SDMs to conduct regular administrative inspections of Tehsil and Niabat offices under their jurisdiction.
The meeting was attended by ADC Rifat Kohli, ACR Sachin Dev Singh all SDMs and Tehsildars of Jammu district and other revenue officers.
