Unrest in Valley dangerous, may lead to serious consequences: Mir

SRINAGAR, Aug 3: Reiterating its appeal for maintaining calm in Kashmir, Pradesh Congress today termed the deteriorating situation in Valley as most dangerous, fraught with serious consequences ahead.
Reacting sharply to the present explosive situation, PCC chief GA Mir alleged that Government has miserably failed to contain situation and it may read to serious repercussions. While reiterating his appeal for maintaining calm in the Valley, Mir said that continuous deteriorating situation in Valley is going to have serious consequences on the overall development of the State, besides effecting future of the people living not only in Kashmir, but in the entire State in one way or the other. Serious efforts should be made on the part of Central Govt as well as the State Govt to bring back normalcy, he said.
PCC president said Congress Party is highly concerned about the fate of State and wants restoration of normalcy. He said  people are passing through a very crucial phase due to inability and inefficiency of the Central and State Govts to tackle the situation, which has turned explosive. It has badly  hit  the socio- political and economic scenario, which is very unfortunate, he added.
Stating that situation is beyond the control of State Govt, Mir said had the State and Centre Govts’ taken effective measure earler, the losses in any form could have been avoided. But, it is unfortunate that both the Governments remained insensitive to the situation, as a result the entire Valley is on boil.
Emphasizing the need of  restoration of normalcy, PCC chief urged upon the Central Govt to take effective measures to bring back normalcy, besides ensuring that no loss of life  from either side happen again.
Expressing serious concern over the regular incidents of killings and injuries following by protests in the Valley, Mir said that such type of unfortunate incidents shall lead to the further alienation of the people, as a result, the restoration of peace in the Valley will be very difficult. He urged upon Central Govt to take effective measures and bring back normalcy without any further delay.
