JAMMU, Aug 3: The Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga today ordered the attachment of District Mineral Officer (DMO) Kathua and transfer and posting of three other District officers in the Geology and Mining Department.
Official sources told the Excelsior that District Mineral Officer, Kathua, Bodh Raj, who was overstaying at the same place for the last many years has been attached to Jammu office of the Geology and Mining. Senior Geologist, Dr Rajinder Rana has been posted as DMO Kathua vice Bodh Raj.
District Mineral Officer, Udhampur, Paramjit Singh has been transferred and posted as DMO Doda while Ramesh Gandotra, Technical Officer to Joint Director G&M, has been shifted and placed as District Mineral Officer, Udhampur.
A senior officer in the department said that minister has taken serious note of the report which appeared in Excelsior with regard to the loss or revenue and mal-functioning in the G&M Department. Some more transfers are likely within couple of days, he added.
