JAMMU, Aug 3: Army and police today recovered a consignment of ammunition and explosive material from Shree forests in Chatroo area of Kishtwar district and destroyed a hideout of the militants.
Reports said a joint team of 11 Rashtriya Rifles and Chatroo police conducted a search operation in Shree forests after developing specific information about a dump of ammunition and explosive material in the forests.
The seizure made from the hideout included 943 live rounds of 7.62 mm and 7.1 mm, two UBGL throwers, one RPG shell, 11 other shells, 18 AGS grenades, five IED charge sticks, two IED switch control devices, two empty magazines of AK-47, five IED batteries, 10 IED switches and one empty ammunition box.
Police have registered a case in connection with the recoveries under Sections 120-B/121-A RPC, 7/25 Arms Act and 4/5 Explosive Substances Act at Chatroo police station in connection with the recoveries.
