Ex-servicemen hold rally

POONCH, Aug 3: An Ex-servicemen rally was organized by Major (Retd) Prem Singh, Zila Sainik Welfare Officer Poonch at Surankot under the aegis of Brig (Retd) Harcharan Singh, Director Sanik Welfare Department J&K. The ZSWO was accompanied by Mohd Iqbal Bhatti and Harmeet Singh. He redressed the grievances and problems of Ex-servicemen, Veer Naries, defence personnel and their families.
A large number of former soldiers, Veer Naries and dependent were present on the occasion. The ZSWO educated the gathering about various welfare schemes of Kendriya Board and Rajya Sainik Board and also resolved their problems on the spot. He brief the procedure for recruitment/ commissioning in to the three services of Armed Forces for dependent eligible children. CSD smart cards applications and letters for Station Orders were prepared on the spot.
Newly retired persons from Army of Surankot tehsil were issued Ex-servicemen identity cards. Duplicate I-Cards of Ex-servicemen and widows were made and issued on spot. Identity of Ex-servicemen and widows for Militia relief, WWII veterans and pensioners was carried out. ECHS and other requirement were brief by ZSWO to ESM and Veer Naries.
ZSWO also brief ESM and Veer Naries regarding necessity of ECHS smart card and importance of ECHS membership. He also briefed ESM and Veer Naries regarding publication of birth occurrence of their children in Part-II orders and its necessities. Problems being faced by ESM and Veer Naries were discussed with them. The ZSWO assured that positive action would be taken by administration.
