JAMMU, Sept 25: Jammu State Morcha (JSM) president Prof Virender Gupta and senior vice president HB Khajuria, flayed the statement of Mufti Mohd Sayeed asking for making J&K as Free Economic Zone on the pattern of proposal in South Asian Association of Regional Council (SAARC), as a test case by easing visa restrictions and custom free trade among both parts of the Kashmir.
They said this statement amounts to treating J&K as a separate, independent country and denouncing the integration of State with India. The proposal of SAARC is for free trade among the member countries of SAARC not among the political sub-units of these countries.
They said Self Rule as being proposed by PDP propagates secessionism and is a move to separate J&K from the Indian Union. PDP wants J&K to become an independent sovereign country and treats Pakistan and India on the same footing. The Self Rule proposal is neither practical nor a viable solution for the Jammu and Kashmir issue, they added.
They said that trust deficit between people of J&K and rest of the country, Kashmiri political leadership including Mufti Mohd Sayeed and Mehbooba Mufti, is more responsible than Government of India.
“The Kashmiri leadership by their anti India postures and actions always tried to create anti India atmosphere in the Valley and for their mismanagement of the State affairs they held the Government of India responsible”, they added.
