JAMMU, Aug 4: As the peaceful protest of package and other employees entered into 20th day in support of their demands, various bodies including employees, social organisations, and academicians have extended full support to employees struggle by endorsing their demand as legitimate and genuine.
Hundreds of employees under the banner of All Migrant Employees Association Kashmir (AMEAK) have flayed the Centre government for its failure to address the genuine issues and demands of employees after they have left Valley due to incidents of violence and stone pelting.
To press their demands, these protesting employees for last 20 days were on protest in front of the Office of Relief Commissioner demanding justice.
Making a scathing attack on the Governments at State and Centre, the protesting employees said that successive Governments have ignored their complaints and pleas at many occasions since their appointment in Valley and with the result their lives were deliberately put in danger during current unrest. They warned the Government to desist from playing with the interests of employees.
Meanwhile, former president KP Sabha and a well known scholar, Prof A N Sadhu, another prominent scholar Prof B L Zuthsi, Dr R L Dhar, M K Jalali president Sharika Peeth and Bihari Kak, a well known artist while joining the dharna today said they are totally dismayed over the callous attitude of Government of India and State Government towards the agitating KP employees. They said these employees were harassed and their life was put to terrible insecurity in the Valley.
They said the return of thee employees is linked to broader resettlement plan of the community in Valley with honour and dignity so the entire community supports their demand and it will not allow their children to become sacrificial lambs on the inanimate procedure drafted by the PM package.
“We were provided jobs in Valley under the package only keeping in view our urge and need; otherwise the Government at the time could have appointed us in Jammu. The job package was announced for Valley without consulting community leadership and also without any policy and plan,” said Ajay Bhat.,
Meanwhile, State President Employees Joint Action Committee (Revolutionary) Babu Hussain Malik joined the employees protest along with his State secretary Seva Ram Rathore. Speaking on the occasion, Malik appealed the State and Central Government to adjust these employees in Jammu.
Others, who addressed protesting employees included State Secretary EJAC Revolutionary Seva Ram Rathor, social activists, Satish Pandita, Bal Krishan Hazari and Chairman APMCCC Vinod Pandit.
