IT Deptt organizes seminar, awareness camp on IDS

JAMMU, Aug 5: Income Tax Department organized a seminar and an awareness camp on Income Declaration Scheme at Rajouri and Ramnagar.
During the seminar at Rajouri, Manjul Raizada and Parveen Sharma, Income Tax Officers apprised the representatives of business community and prominent citizens about the Income Declaration Scheme.
Among others who attended the seminar included Rajesh Gupta, president Beopar Mandal, Vipan Sawhney, Jasbir Singh, Zubar Mirza, member of Bar Ajay Gupta and Ankush Gupta.
Both the ITOs advised the representatives of different organizations to file their income tax returns regularly by declaring correct income. They explained that those persons, who have not disclosed correct income or have not filed any income tax return in the earlier years, should come forward and disclose the undisclosed income.
Meanwhile, an awareness camp was organized at Ramnagar by M L Dogra, Income Tax Officer, Udhampur which was attended by Joginder Kumar, President Beopar Mandal, Rajesh Sharma, President Contractor Association along with prominent businessmen and citizens of Ramnagar.
The ITO informed the gathering about the Income Declaration Scheme and advised the business community to file their income tax returns regularly by declaring correct income.
“It is a  right  time to take  the benefit of this scheme as  all such undisclosed income can be declared now by paying just 45% of tax, surcharge and penalty on the income instead of paying more taxes, facing prosecution and scrutiny/enquiry  in future under Income Tax Act and Wealth Tax Act”, he added.
A number of queries were raised which were answered by the ITO.
