JAMMU, Aug 6: Speaker Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta today directed the Urban Environmental Engineering Department (UEED) to undertake immediate improvement of drainage system in Trikuta Nagar area to prevent further damages to lanes due to monsoon rains.
During his visit to the area, the Speaker directed for immediate realignment and repair of breaches in the local nallah which causes much damage to residential houses during rainy season.
The people of the area demanded construction of concrete nallah with 90 degree angle slope to prevent the drain water to spill over in the locality during heavy rains. The people complained that the partially concrete nallah has become a constant problem for them when it overflows and water enters into their houses.
The Speaker gave a patient hearing to issues of the people and assured that their all genuine demand would be addressed soon.
