NOWSHERA, Aug 6: A school boy was drowned while two others were rescued when they were taking bath at a check dam near Mangla Mata shrine in Bhawan area of Nowshera sector this afternoon.
The mishap took place when the students of Shiksha Kendra School, Prat (Sunderbani) had gone for picnic to Mangla Mata shrine near Jhangar in Nowshera. Some boys went to take bath at nearby check dam. While bathing three boys drowned. While one of them could not be saved, two others were rescued by the school staff.
The deceased has been identified as Raman (12), son of Bansi Lal, resident of Channi Prat. His 15 year-old brother Aman and 16-year-old Karan, son of Pawan Kumar from Dharamsal, were rescued by the school staff. The police has taken cognizance of the matter. Both the boys were rushed to Nowshera hospital.
