One engineer rescued, search on for another

KATHUA, Aug 6: One engineer among the two engineers of a private construction company who were feared to have been washed away in flash floods in Beni nallah in Billawar tehsil of Kathua district yesterday was rescued, today police said.
Naresh Gupta and Raju Shah were inspecting an under construction bridge at Beni nallah in Kathua district, when flash floods washed them away last evening, police officials said.
However Naresh Gupta who had caught a tree later came down from the tree after the water level receded in the nallah and he was found in bushes early this morning.
Soon after the incident, police launched a rescue operation with the help of locals, they said, adding that Gupta, who had caught a tree, was rescued while efforts are on trace another engineer.
