NPP protests, demands Governor Rule in J&K

NEW DELHI, Aug 8: National Panthers Party protested at Jantar Mantar here demanding imposition of Governor Rule in J&K in the national interest and security and safety of national interest in J&K.
Promient NPP leaders including Prof Bhim Singh, Rajiv Jolly Khosla, Romesh Khajuria, Anita Thakur (general secretary of JKNPP), Anil Kumar Sharma, Ajay Raj, Ch Ajit Singh, Dildar Hussain Beg, Mehfooz Khan, Balwinder Khosla participated.
The NPP in a unanimous resolution urged President of India to intervene under Article 370 of the Indian Constitution read with Section 92 of J&K Constitution which empowers President of India to direct J&K Governor to impose Governor Rule in J&K.
The resolution also condemned the arrest of Poonch district president of Panthers Party Asfaq Rana who was detained on August 6, 2016 at Surankote while he was leading a peace procession in Surankote demanding end of oppression and suppression against the people of Kashmir.
Prof Singh has also sought intervention of Union Home Minister to impose Governor Rule in the State.
