Srinagar, Aug 8: An Army vehicle hit a car, killing a civilian on spot near Wangipora Sumbal in district Bandipora today.
The mishap took place when an Army’s Casper vehicle near Wangipora area of Sumbal hit a car that was driven by one Muhammad Ashraf Mir of Ganderbal.
Mir died on the spot and soon after the incident, residents of Sumbal took to streets and tried to set ablaze the Army vehicle.
A case has been registered against the driver who was also arrested by police. The Army vehicle was seized. Body of the deceased was handed over to his family after post mortem.
