JAMMU, Aug 8: Monthly meeting of Ex-Policemen League of district Jammu was held here under its president K S Sambyal, in which various issues pertaining to welfare of ex-police officers and officials were discussed.
The participants in the meeting urged the DGP to issue proper instructions to the doctors posted in police hospitals to provide required medicines to the needy retirees from Police Hospital stores.
Other issues discussed were enhancement in medical allowance to Rs 1000 of all pensioners; immediate release of 7th Pay Commission award to employees and pensioners; immediate release of Rs 10,000 in the event of death of a police official for last rites; 10% reservation to the wards of retiree NGO Policemen in police recruitment and professional institutions etc.
The meeting among others was attended by P L Mattu, M L Sharma, R K Bali, P R Sharma, K L Bhagat, Ch Gulzar Ahmed, D D Sharma, Ashok Bhagat and M L Mathur (all SSP/SPs), Virinder Bhasin, Joginder Singh Jamwal, Surjkeet Singh Jamwal, Ch Mohd Saleem, Ch Ravail Chand, Balwant Singh Jamwal, K C Salgotra, Mishri Khan and Vijay Choudhary (all DySPs), Brahm Dutt, Ved Raj Bali, Dhian Singh, Shamsher Bhagat and S Jagjit Singh (all retired inspectors/sub-inspectors).
