SAMBA, Aug 8: Local residents of Rattanpur Surada village today staged a protest demonstration against power failure at SDM office in Ghagwal.
They raised slogans against administration and PDD for their alleged neglecting behaviour.
The villagers alleged that the transformer which has developed a snag last week has not been replaced till date and authorities are not paying any heed towards their demands.
“We are reeling under constant darkness from the last one week in this hot and humid weather. Despite several request to PDD officials nothing has been done so far. If power supply to our area would not be resumed within 24 hours, we will be forced to come on roads, said a local resident.
Later, SDM Ghagwal pacified the protesters and assured necessary action in this regard.
Social activist B L Kandley, Sarpanch Satpal, Ajit Kumar, Bodh Raj and Dass Kumar among others were also participated in the protest.
