Mentha oil futures remain up on rising demand

NEW DELHI, Aug 9:  Rising for the second straight day, mentha oil prices gained another 0.38 per cent to Rs 914.50 per kg in futures trade today as traders indulged in enlarging positions on the back of pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
Besides, tight stocks position on restricted supplies from producing regions supported the upside.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in September advanced by Rs 3.50 or 0.38 per cent to Rs 914.50 per kg in business turnover of 61 lots.
The oil for delivery in August contracts traded higher by Rs 2.90, or 0.32 per cent to Rs 903 per kg in 440 lots.
Analysts said besides strong demand from consuming industries in the physical market, restricted supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, kept mentha oil prices higher at futures trade. (PTI)
