No proposal for uniform treatment of families of spies: Govt

NEW DELHI:  Government is not considering any proposal to adopt a uniform policy to take care of families of Indian spies killed or tortured in Pakistan, Lok Sabha was informed today.

In response to a question seeking to know if the government is considering a uniform policy in this regard, Minister of State for Home Affairs Hansraj Ahir said, “No such proposal is under the consideration of the government.”

In his question, BJP MP Kirti Azad also wanted to know if there was a template to be followed in such cases where families of spies fall on bad times and if so, the details thereof and if government proposes to bring uniformity in treatment of such spies.

The Minister’s response was common to all the three points raised by the MP. (AGENCIES)
