Adequate availability of essentials ensured in State: Zulfkar

RAJOURI, Aug 9: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Ch. Zulfkar Ali today said that there is no dearth of any essential commodity in the State and Government is putting in every effort to provide all the requisite essential goods well in time to the people.
The Minister said this while interacting with the media persons during a press conference here at Rajouri today.
The Minister informed that ration for the month of July has been distributed in all the districts across the State and as far as the distribution of ration for the month of August is concerned, the Minister said that till date 32% of ration has been distributed in the Valley. “Out of the total allocation of 4621191 quintal 148212 quintal ration has been distributed in the Valley”, the Minister added.
About the district wise distribution of the ration during this month, the Minister said that in Anantnag 47% ration has been distributed while 23 % in Baramula, 23% in Bandipura, 17% in Budgam, 33% in Ganderbal, 20% in Kupwara, 45 % in Kulgam, 37 % in Pulwama, 27% in Shopian, 30 % in Srinagar, 78% in Leh and 88% in Kargil..
The Minister said that by the 20th of this month 100% ration will be distributed.
He said that there is no dearth of ration and other essential commodities in the Valley and there is sufficient quantity of ration for the next month also. While giving out details of the stock position of all the essential commodities in the Valley, the minister said that 185574 LPG cylinders are available which are sufficient for the next fortnight.
He also informed that 2661 kilo-litre of petroleum is available which is sufficient for the next 18 days and on the other hand 10932 kilo litre of diesel is available which is sufficient to fulfill the requirement of the people for the next month, he said.
The Minister maintained that inspite of prevailing situation in the State, adequate availability of essentials has been ensured by the Government.
The Minister expressed hope that with the people’s cooperation peace will be restored in the State.
