30 CFVs on LoC till July 31

NEW DELHI, Aug 9:
There have been 30 ceasefire violations (CFVs) by Pakistan on the Line of Control till July 31 with one casualty from the Army side, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar told Rajya Sabha today.
The figure shows a decline in the cases of ceasefire violation over the last two years. In 2014 and 2015 there were 153 and 152 such violations respectively on the LoC managed by the Army, Parrikar said.
The ceasefire violations on the International Border under the control of Border Security Force in 2014 and 2015 were 430 and 253 respectively.
In a written response to a question in Rajya Sabha, he said until July 31, there have been 30 ceasefire violations on the LoC whereas there were two ceasefire violations till June 30 on the International Border under the control of the BSF.
Responding to another question, Parrikar said the situation on the India-Pakistan border is under control, but the Government is fully seized with the security needs of the country and regularly reviews the threat perception to secure borders and protect national interests. (PTI)
