UDHAMPUR, Aug 11: Students of Primary School Kunalsoo in Zone Chenani of Udhampur district are again without water as some miscreants have damaged and stolen the water supply pipes on the very next day it were laid while Police was allegedly not taking an action in this regard.
Even as a formal complaint in this regard was lodged by the Assistant Executive Engineer, PHE Sub-Division, Chenani, on August 3, the police has yet to take action against the culprits, whose identity was also established by the locals.
The pipes for water supply from a Bowli (spring) to the said school were laid on August 2, 2016 in the presence of SHO Kud, SDPO Chenani, AEE PHE and others since some people were opposing the same.
In view of opposition of these people, who have been using this natural source of water for their personal purpose, the higher authorities had to intervene to tap the Bowli for providing drinking water supply to the school.
When contacted, SHO Kud said that the Police was seized of the matter and necessary action was being taken in this regard.
