Mishra reviews security arrangements for I-Day

JAMMU, Aug 12: Special Director General of Police (Coordination) J&K, S K Mishra today held video conference with Range DIGs and District SSPs of Jammu Zone in Police Control Room here this evening.
Threadbare discussion with regard to deployment of police personnel, maintenance of law and order and other issues related for smooth conduct of Independence Day celebrations was held. It was stressed that adequate man power would be deployed for the security of the venue of the function and maintenance of law and order, besides contingents from different wings would participate in the celebrations for which the exercise has been started.
The Spl. DGP Coordination called upon the officers to maintain synergy among various agencies and directed for keeping available required man power for the functions without affecting the law and order duties. During the conference directions were given to the District SSPs to have a sharp look on Over Ground workers (OGWs) and book those persons who are indulged in posting hate messages in social media including Facebook, Whatsapp which lead to communal tension and those raising anti national slogans.
They were also directed to ensure proper border management and proper deployment so that possible infiltration from the border areas can be stopped. Proper deployment should be ensured at vulnerable places/ minority pockets besides all the religious places be properly manned by proper security. Detailed deliberations were held on all the points concerning parade contingents, preparation of venue, anti sabotage checks of the venues, barricading, traffic arrangements in the city and at the venue, fire services, medical facilities and other contingencies for the Independence Day celebrations.
He further said that maintenance of peace and order during the Independence Day celebrations should be the priority and stressed for maintaining close vigil on the suspicious elements, fuelling the situation for their personal gains and endangering the lives of innocent people, besides public properties. Danesh Rana- IGP Jammu Zone, Ashkoor Ahmed Wani- DIG JSK Range, Ashok Sharma-SSP PCR Jammu and Sunil Gupta-SSP Jammu also attended the Video Conference.
