JAMMU, Aug 12: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Dr Manohar Lal Sharma has alleged that BJP has deliberately delayed execution of PMGSY road projects in the State.
While reviewing the PMGSY projects with the Chief Engineer PMGSY Jammu along with the delegation from Billawar and Kathua, the former Billawar MLA pointed out the delay in the authorization and execution of the PMGSY projects of Jammu Province under Phase-10 for which the DPR was prepared and technically approved by the State Technical Committee in the year 2013-14 but the fate of the schemes remained hanging in balance for long due to the casual approach of the public representatives and BJP Government in the Center and the State.
He said a large number of people living in habitations which are remote and hilly remained un connected till date due to the slackness of public representatives, despite the fact that lot of efforts had been put by the previous Government and public representatives. The work had not been taken to ground due to the political gimmicks of the BJP and its ally and put the public in hardship as the terrain is tough and the people still remained without proper roads for which the previous regime had did a lot and the present Government further aggravates the problem by delaying three years more.
Dr Sharma strongly demanded the early execution of all the road projects under PMGSY Phase – 10 and pending projects of Phase -8th and 9th of stage I and stage II as earliest as possible in the interest of general public. He also urged to expedite the work on the ongoing road projects in Billawar. He also demanded to take up left out roads of Kathua district. The Public of the area shows strong resentment for the delaying of the projects namely Riar Baggan part-II, Non Gala to Trappad part – II and Malhar to Honog (Marhoon) and delegation requested to the Chief Engineer PMGSY Jammu to take up these left out projects.
